One of the most common arguments
against the Law of Attraction, used by detractors that oppose the 'like
attracts like' theory, is the fundamental 'opposites attract' law of physics,
which is proved by the fact that opposite magnetic poles attract and like poles
repel. However, whilst these two laws may appear to be contradictory, in fact
they are both correct.
The 'like attracts like' ideology
refers to vibrational resonance. A simple example that shows like attracting
like is when two people with similar beliefs and values meet. When we meet
someone with similar beliefs and values to our own, then we create a stronger
bond than when we meet someone with different beliefs and values; we may say
"We are on the same wave length" or "We just seemed to
click".
Essentially, two people who think
alike will attract each other more so than two people who think differently.
This is because two people who think alike will resonate with each other - they
will have similar vibrational frequencies.
To put it another way, we all act
like tuning forks; when a tuning fork is tapped in a room full of other tuning
forks, other tuning forks that are set to the same frequency will vibrate. In
the same way, whatever resonates with the vibrations that we emit will vibrate
with us and so we will attract it into our experience.
Think of a television set; the
signals we receive depend upon the channel to which we are tuned. In a similar
way, the results we see in our lives depend upon what we are tuned into.
The real evidence of the Law of
Attraction actually lies in our lives and in the world around us; however, many
people do not see it because they do not know what they are looking for.
I first came across the concept of
the 'Law of Attraction' when I began questioning various aspects of life. I
wanted to know why bad things happen to good people, why there is so much
suffering in the world, why some people appear to be very lucky and others are
not and why some people seem to have all the good things in life whilst others
are constantly fighting against the odds.
At first, I turned to religion in
its various forms, only to find that religion, for me, just created more
questions rather than answering any. I then came across the concept of the 'Law
of Attraction' and I was instantly intrigued. I also began exploring Neuro
Linguistic Programming (NLP), which connects our thoughts with our emotional
and behavioural patterns. As I continued to expand my awareness, everything
made such perfect sense to me and I began to understand what makes people who
and what they are.
In 2007, my problems were so
dominant that I became extremely disillusioned with life and began to battle
confusion, depression and the desire to commit suicide. Subsequently, I began
receiving psychiatric help, which did not seem to help me to take control of my
life. It was at this point that I had an epiphany - I realized that knowledge
alone is useless, applying the knowledge is power. I believed in my philosophy
of life, but I did not apply it. Does this sound familiar to you?
Firstly, I made the decision to
take control of my life. Then, I began to apply my philosophy of life.
Subsequently, I overcame my problems, rebuilt my life and achieved a happy
state of mind.
As I began to apply my philosophy
of life, I realized how the Law of Attraction was working and affecting all of
our lives without us even realizing it. With this knowledge and understanding,
I want to help those people who consider themselves as 'unlucky' to achieve an
insight as to why they are 'unlucky'. I want to help people to change their
belief in themselves to a more positive state and thereby change their 'luck'.
