The Theory About the "Law of Attraction"

What is the "Law of attraction"?

The first time I was made familiar about the "Law of attraction" theory was when I have read a book published by the Theosophical Society. In the book, it was explaining how the law of attraction works in the universe, including this earth and all other heavenly bodies. It speaks of "Law of attraction" as the principle why a planet orbits around a sun, or why a moon orbits a planet. The book also speaks of man as having a power of thought, and when this power is tapped through training can gain man almost anything he wanted. This is also the principle behind reincarnation theory as claimed by theosophists such as Annie Besant; soul comes back to earth due to its attraction to mundane things, and until the true man only desires of divinity, he will always come back to this world through the "Law of attraction". This theory really catches my attention, especially that I was born Roman Catholic. I thought the mother church of Christianity will be definitely defying this theory. For those people who have not yet heard of this theory, let me borrow a definition from Wikipedia so I can ensure my self away from mistake defining this intriguing law.

The Wikipedia defined: The law of attraction is a pseudoscientific belief or theory, that "like attracts like," and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results.

Some famous personalities who supported the "Law of attraction" theory
The "Law of attraction" theory has been used by many famous personalities, claiming their authenticity in our actual lives. Some have made volumes of books to account testimonies and proof of how this law works. I read one testimony from a person who claimed one day he woke up knowing exactly how this law really works and he used this law which made him successful and entirely different from the way he was before. Here are the list of famous personalities who strongly believed in the power of this theory:

Thomas Troward: In 1904-1910 the new thought movement was established, and Thomas Troward became a strong influence in this movement. He said "the action of Mind plants that nucleus which, if allowed to grow undisturbed, will eventually attract to itself all the conditions necessary for its manifestation in outward visible form."

William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932): He used the phrase "like attracts like" in his New Thought Movement book Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World.

Bruce MacLelland: Author of Prosperity Through Thought Force, he claims a principle that:"You are what you think, not what you think you are. His book was published in The Nautilus Magazine, a Journal of New Thought,

Wallace D. Wattles: Author of the book The Science of Getting Rich, he adopted a same principle with the law of attraction. "Here is how he espouses it: that truly believing in the object of your desire and focusing onto it will lead to that object or goal being realized on the material plane".
Would I believe in the "Law of attraction"?

Yes, I believe in the "Law of attraction" theory. It complements Isaac Newton's "Law of Motion" combined with the "Law of gravitation", and these laws are already proven by science. The latter law closely supports the "Law of Attraction" theory. Everybody believes in the "Law of Gravity";on Earth, it is what attracts us on ground. If these existing laws has been encrypted with Earth prior to its discovery as existing laws of nature, then it is not too much to consider that the "law of attraction" theory might be also true in the realm of thought as one of the laws of nature. Since thought is said to be the means of using the "Law of attraction", it is just right to have this theory tested by using thought, and it must be a thought that one really intended to happen and keep that thought for a period of time. keep a diary or journal with this experimentation, and study what would happen. As to my experience, I may not have written my experiences in a diary, but I found myself recalling my previous wishes and aspirations because it is really amazing to think that they had really happened. I will share this experience as an example: One Time, I had thought of my long- lost friend of where he might have been all those years, then after a week or two for whatever reason this friend of mine just suddenly contacted me. When I read about this theory of "Law of Attraction" I found myself agreeing, for it is the closest explanation I could gather to support those experiences I had. I thought that if a man can have the ability to properly use this principle, he would definitely become rich, and successful to any endeavor he will engage.
