People constantly ask me how they
can rapidly destroy bad feelings. The vast majority of these people are looking
for ways to increase their current emotional states and points of attraction so
they can more accurately use the law of attraction in their life; however, even
if you think that the law is bunch of hooey, being able to quickly dispel bad
feelings is a good habit to have.
The first way to rapidly destroy
bad feelings is to stop the thought and replace it with a happy memory. Yes,
this could be a "happy place" or a favorite relative or a memory or
your choice treats or indulgences-whatever you want as long as it makes you
feel happy. To punch this technique up a little, think of a few things like
this and chain them together by thinking of them in succession. And maybe even think
thoughts like, "my life isn't really that bad, I have... " and fill
in the blank with your succession of happy thoughts.
In a similar way, you can do
activities that make you happy. For instance, when I was a kid, my mother would
always watch comedy movies when she was upset so she could just get out of her
head and forget about her problems for a bit. And the interesting thing that
happens is when you pick your problems back up very often they're lessened.
Likewise, this is why it's easy for some people to bury themselves in their
work when they're depressed-as long as you don't make this a lifelong strategy,
it may work wonders for you to work through your problems: the road to success
has been paved by many people in just this way, though most often you hear of
it in relation to musicians, this works for many people.
On a little more woo-woo of a
level, you can meditate, and go inside yourself. Find your bad feeling and
acknowledge it-what is it trying to tell you? What is its purpose? Look it in
the eye and find out what it looks like. As you begin to do this, you will
likely find that it melts away. In fact, if you find that your pain or bad
feeling is an amorphous substance, particularly if it looks like wax or
similarly able to be melted, then, imagine a big torch or better yet a fire
breathing dragon melting the bad feelings... does it scream like the Wicked
Witch of the West-"I'm melting! I'm melting!"? Or does it just melt
in stoic silence, pooling onto the ground?
